Samantha Habusta, SWT

Samantha Habusta (Sam), Social Work Trainee, is a Master of Social Work student at Spring Arbor University. Sam has always wanted to be involved with the care industry, initially desiring to be in an administrative role, but learning quickly that her heart was with working with individuals directly. After completing her Bachelor’s in Health Care Administration at the University of Toledo, Sam took time away from a professional career and focused on family life and raising children.

Sam is dedicated to youth services. She spent several years mentoring teen girls in an inner-city youth program and in 2017, Sam and her husband became licensed foster parents, specializing in working with teens. It was her work in these roles which directed her path toward social work. Sam is passionate about helping people work through their
trauma. Because of her experience as a foster parent, Sam understands the sometimes-challenging role of parenting a child with complex needs and seeks to support children and families.
