Desiree VanValkenburg serves as Practice Manager for Anchored in Hope Counseling, where she oversees the daily operations that support both clients and staff. With a Bachelor of Science in Business and currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA), Desiree is passionate about creating systems, processes, and workplace environments that help people succeed.

As Practice Manager, Desiree oversees the front office, billing, insurance, and administrative departments while helping ensure the practice operates efficiently and effectively. She works closely with leadership and staff to support day-to-day operations, improve organizational processes, and maintain a positive experience for both clients and employees.

Desiree also serves as the organization's Safety and Compliance Officer, HIPAA Compliance Officer, and OHMAS Client Advocate. In these roles, she helps ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, supports quality improvement initiatives, and advocates for the needs of clients and families throughout their experience with the practice.

With a strong foundation in business operations and human resource management, Desiree is particularly passionate about employee development, staff training, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and creating a workplace culture where people feel supported and valued. She believes that when employees are empowered and equipped for success, clients ultimately receive the highest quality care.

What drives Desiree most is the opportunity to support both the people who provide care and the individuals and families receiving services. She enjoys solving problems, improving systems, building strong teams, and helping create an environment where meaningful work can thrive.

Outside of work, Desiree enjoys hobby farming and spending time with her children.
