Jessica Huesman, LPCC (She/Her)

Eating Disorder, Body Image, Trauma, and Life Transition Specialist

Jessica Huesman is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who specializes in helping adults and older adolescents navigate eating disorders, body image concerns, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and life transitions throughout Northwest Ohio.

Jessica believes every person deserves to feel respected, understood, and supported throughout their healing journey. Her passion for counseling was shaped by her own experience as a teenager, when she did not feel heard or respected in therapy. That experience inspired her commitment to creating a different kind of therapeutic space—one where clients feel genuinely seen, valued, and empowered to explore their challenges without fear of judgment.

Jessica primarily works with adults ages 18 and older and frequently supports older adolescents experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating patterns, or struggles with body image and self-worth. She also works with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, mood disorders, identity development, and significant life transitions. Through an inviting, collaborative, and strengths-based approach, Jessica meets clients where they are while helping them move toward meaningful and sustainable growth.

Jessica understands that beginning therapy can feel intimidating. Taking the first step often comes with uncertainty, vulnerability, and fear. At the same time, she believes that growth frequently begins when we lean into the places that feel uncomfortable. Guided by the belief that "the cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek," Jessica helps clients explore difficult emotions, uncover hidden strengths, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.

Her therapeutic style is compassionate, person-centered, and authentic. While she provides a supportive and accepting environment, Jessica is also known for gently challenging clients during moments of stagnation or self-doubt. She believes meaningful change often requires both support and accountability. Clients can expect practical coping strategies, honest conversations, and even moments of humor along the way. Jessica believes laughter can be a powerful tool for healing, helping clients navigate life's challenges with greater resilience and perspective.

At the heart of Jessica's work is the belief that healing is possible when people feel safe enough to be themselves. Her goal is to help clients develop a healthier relationship with themselves, their bodies, their emotions, and the life they want to create.

Outside of the office, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, attending live music and art events, reading, thrifting, exploring antique stores, and caring for her three cats and senior dog, Mina. She also enjoys hula hooping for exercise and finding creative ways to bring joy into everyday life.
