Rachel Zsarnay, SWT (She/Her)
Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, and Holistic Wellness Specialist
Rachel Zsarnay is a Social Work Trainee with a Master's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University who supports children, teens, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, impulse control concerns, and personal growth.
Rachel believes every person is more than what they have been through. Her approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that clients are whole, capable, and worthy of healing exactly as they are. She is passionate about helping individuals deepen their self-understanding, reconnect with their strengths, and create empowering narratives that honor both where they have been and where they want to go.
Rachel works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, impulse control concerns, and challenges related to self-worth and identity. She understands that beginning therapy can feel confusing, especially when someone is unsure where to start or what kind of support they need. Her goal is to create a grounded, supportive space where clients feel accepted, understood, and empowered to explore their healing journey at their own pace.
Her therapeutic approach is eclectic, holistic, and guided by each client's unique needs, strengths, and values. Rachel believes that clients are the experts of their own lives and that therapy works best when treatment is collaborative and personalized. She draws from a variety of tools and interventions, including mindfulness, somatic practices, distress tolerance skills, strengths-based work, and narrative exploration. She also emphasizes the connection between mental and physical health, supporting clients as they develop practices that nurture the whole self.
Rachel is especially passionate about helping clients understand how past experiences may continue to shape present-day thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns. She believes that our lives are made up of many puzzle pieces, and therapy can offer the time, patience, and curiosity needed to better understand how those pieces fit together. Through this process, clients can begin to accept where they are now while building a meaningful plan for the future.
At the heart of Rachel's work is the belief that healing involves both presence and possibility: accepting the present moment while remaining connected to hope for what can come next. She supports clients in building mindfulness, increasing self-compassion, understanding how trauma can live in the body, and creating a more peaceful and fulfilling inner world.
Guided by the belief, "I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become," Rachel helps clients reconnect with their agency, resilience, and capacity for growth.
Outside of the office, Rachel enjoys yoga, meditation, lifting weights, running, dancing, and reading.
